We have a Sony Handycam HI8 Camcorder and i was wondering how i can get the movie from the camera to the computer. The camera does not have any connections to the computer like a USB or firewire. Is there any other way i can somehow get the video footage onto my computer in a video format. I am making a grad. movie and i need the footage from the camera.
    Thanks!

    You have three options:
    1. Through an analog video capture card
    2. Put the Hi-8 tape in a Digital8 camcorder amd connect that to a PC
    3. Do a analog-to-digital pass-through using a digital camcorder

I have like a PCI card as shown in http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/transfer.php link.. But i only have one video input and a compostite S-Video input. I went to the sony site and it explained how i could transfer my video from the analog camera to the computer by hooking up the A/V camera cable to the camera and then to the back of the computer. I turned the computer on and nothing happend. How can i fix this?
