I have Nero 6.6.1.4 installed on my computer and everytime I use it or when I am trying to perform a certain task a message comes up telling me:

    Fatal Error

    Installation corrupted- please reinstall NERO

I have reinstalled it a million times and I still keep getting the same thing. Help me please.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi davito520
Let's try one more time and see what happens. Uninstall nero (write down serial #) - run the clean tool then re download a new .exe file.
If you use Shrink by chance and want the auto burn I'd recommend version 6.6.0.18. Here's some links for it:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (Recode & Vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

    Clean Tool:

    edit: fix links

    For 6.6.1.4 - Package 1 and 2 listed here.

@davito520, Good advice from binkie7, Nero 6.6.1.4 is a "buggy" version.

    Hello Binkie 7,

I would like to thank you for your help. I followed the steps that you mentioned before and it worked. Even Nero 6.6.1.4 works without any bugs. The only mistake I kept on making is failure to reboot my computer after each installation. Looks like Nero is a special program that must be rebooted, no matter what. Other than that, everything is superb.

    Thanks again.

Actually, everytime you do an install/unistall of a 'decent size' program you should reboot your machine. That way you know you won't have any cache problems and the pc will run smoother. Some computers need to be restarted after a burn while others just cruise past such tasks. Remember, XP is an akward program and a lot of the times the origin of 'weird' problems...

@davito520, I wish you luck with version 6.0.1.4 but just remember when you DO strike problems, revert back to version 6.6.0.18 from the link supplied. In all my burning experiences, which is many I have NEVER had to re boot comp.

    @davito520
Glad you got a good install!
Yeah it's good to reboot after a install whether the programs requires it or not as permiggs said.
I run both 6.6.0.18 and 6.6.1.4 - the only problem I have w/ the later version is no autoburn w/ Shrink. No biggie there's always decrypter for that. My foray w/ a few versions of 7 is keeping me w/ 6 for now.
