I'm going to apoligize ahead of time just in case i put this in the wrong section of the forums. Currently I am running multiple systems off my Linksys 802.11 b befw11s4 router. My question is if i were to upgrade my router to an 802.11g router would i reach faster speeds or anything? i noticed i only get speed of 11 mbps and the g goes up to 54mbps (what exactly do these numbers mean). Thanks ahead of time for anyone that responds.

If you are interested, this is a good read for a wireless beginner.

Keep in mind that if you upgrade your router, you will need to upgrade all the client devices to 802.11g compatible cards as well. If not, you will still see 802.11b speeds on these devices.

Post back any other questions you may have after you are done reading the above post.
