Is it true that wearing rubber/latex gloves can help reduce static discharge? I wanna know because I like to work inside my compy and thought gloves would help reduce the risk of toasting something.

I prefer to use a condom - lubricated and has a tickling effect.

So as long as I'm properly grounded to the case I won't toast anything?

just touch the bare metal of the case every so often or get a wrist grounding strap. i took the mandatory esd course when at celestica doing board work.

    Ok. That's what Iv'e been doing...*relief*

Do computer components have a higher tendency to attract static or is grounding just a precautionary practice? It never actually seemed to be that big a deal for me.
