At christmas I purchased a proview 32" lcd tv, right? First off I had it hooked up through VGA cables which allowed for a 1024 x 768 maximum resolution @ 60hz and you know what? It looks pretty darn good. I read on numerous reviews how slick lcd's look hooked up through hdmi and I have a 7600 gt video card so I thought what the heck let's give it a try yo! I bought a dvi-hdmi converter and some hdmi cable and proceded to try and set it up one little problem my video card would only accept 1360 x 768? and to boot my desktop has how do you say overscan or something like this. How do I configure this to accept my tvs native res. and how the sam hell do I get rid of this over/underscan? Any good info on the web? I've also heard of a tool called powerstrip are people still using this, doesn't it essentially do the same job as my Nvidia forceware? Thx people!
I just ordered a hdmi-dvi cable yesterday. Should be here next week. I'll be watching this thread with ya.
first off skip hdmi, it won't look right through the conversion your trying to do, it should be hdmi on both sides of the connection or don't mess with it, Save it for a dvd player or xbox360, you have to match the res to the screen when going to tv sources or it is at the least get jacked up images, at worst can destroy your display
