I have used only pentiums over the last several years. I need to buy a new notebook and my needs have changed... I think I can do with a lesser processor and have been looking at an acer machine with a celeron m380 1.6 ghz.

Short of normal office apps dreamweaver, flash, etc. and using the web... my main concern is graphics. I do a lot of work with photoshop and image editing usually the files are not more than a couple of meg at best.

Is this a good choice? will I be happy? What would be a good non-pentium.

The Celeron M series is the only Celeron I actually recommend. It will perform nicely for you :D

For graphics though try to get a notebook with ATi Radeon Xpress X200 integrated graphics. It makes all the difference over Intel GMA900/950.

Even better would be to get a notebook with its own true video card.
