I'm running on XP, SP2 and I have the BenQ 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With LightScribe.

I tried reinstalling iTunes and got the message with installation that said that the CD burning resources were missing. When I click "Burn Disc", I get the error message "Disc Recording not found..."

Normally this happens after you install Nero if iTunes was installed first. Go to the control panel-Add Remove programs. Highlight iTunes and click Change/Remove. A window will open asking to remove or repair--select repair and the burning capabilities should be restored.

    "Warning!

The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

Also, my Windows CD/DVD burn wizard isn't working, it doesn't recognize that there's a blank CD in there.

I suggest going to the nero website and downloading the clean tools for version 6 or 7 whatever one you have and these tools will remove all traces of nero off your computer. Just uninstalling nero doesn't work you need these tools to remove everything else.

Ran the clean tools, they froze at the end but it looks like they worked. The CD burning still doesn't work though.

Apparantly it's not recognizing CDs at all anymore, probably since Nero was uninstalled.
