X Box Doesn't Read Disc...

I Think I'm Running A Version of EvoX for my X box and I've never purchased any real games until this week. I pop them in my X box and none of them work... some say no disc some say unknown disc...

Please anybody help

 

so how did you play games? are you still able to play games from hdd or backup disk?

 

im guesing when u say backup disc u mean burnt ones yes i can play those... and from my hardrive, it just doesnt read these games... i can play old original x box games... but these ones are recent and i'm guessing new security features... any way around this

Old and new games are same. Check your "parental control" in ms dash settings.

What do you mean? You still have problem to play new games.
Also clean the lazer of xbox dvd drive.

try this way. Load ms dash Not evox dash. Then insert new game into dvd. What happens? does game load?

 

when i boot up i start at ms dash... it doesnt work when i put the cd in... i get the cant recognize cd error... i then go into where my x box live would be to get to my other dashboard

Maybe you just need to replace your laser lens or DVD-Rom drive, have you tried placing an audio CD or DVD movie in your Xbox to see if they are recognized? And it could be your media as well what type of DVDs are you using?

 

Take a part your xbox. Cut some wires. This should fix it.

i think i'm running evoX i got it done like 2 years ago... hasnt been upgraded sine...

 

well it really sounds like a dvd drive issue, if you can get a buddy to lend you his drive, pop it in and try it out.
