Is there any ways to improve the speed of cable internet service? I have Comcast 6.0mbps internet service. I have ran speedtest.purdigital.com test and my speed range between 2.13mbps to 3.83mbps. Many say that is my limit but I don't buy it. I know that cable connection speed can depend on how many people are also in your area are on the network. I have heard that you can buy ethernet cables that can improve line quality-is this true? I have done some registry tweaks but is there anything else I can do with my registry to improve speed? I also hear that having a network router can greatly increase high-speed internet connection- is this true? I have a Motorola cable modem from comcast and I don't know the model number but are there better cable modems available that will improve speed of high speed connection? What else can I do to improve my connection speeds?
Better modems will increase speed although I don't know which models are better. try upgrading the quality of your cable
Huh? How do you upgrade the quality of your cable? Do you mean upgrade to higher speed? In my case that would be 8mbps but I am not willing to pay that price and barely even get half the speed with the current equipment that I have now. I rather try and get as much of the speed that I can get from my current High speed connection. I am thinking of getting a better modem and I am researching right now. Any other suggestions from you guys? Can a router help increase my high speed connection speed?
