Basically I'v read numerous threads relating to graphics card specifications however I'm not that tech savy when it comes to these so request some assistance before I hand over my hard earned money, My Computer specifications are as follows; Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 which has an available PCI Express slot, Built in Nvidia 6100 chipset, AMD Athlon64 3400, 2GB DDR400, 250GB IDE Harddrive, 2x DVD Multiwriters IDE. The games I am wanting to play are titles such as Halflife 2, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, also with the capability to play future games for some time. My budget is between 60 and 110 pounds (I can't type the pounds sign on my keyboard because its messed up) Cheers for amy assistance in this matter, Regards Paul.
I'll take 60-110 pounds as $125-$230 for right now. but I strongly suggest you get this. You will notice that I own one. I recommend it because it has given me an excellent gaming experience in the few short months that I've owned it so far. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102688 It's a damn good video card with plenty of power to keep you going for a few years still. It'll play the games you listed like nobody's business. That should nicely compliment your already very decent system. Look for that at your favorite UK site as I can't find one right off the bat. Also, I'm assuming your system is Socket 754?
Yes it is, however I think I might need to upgrade my PSU also its a 450 ATM, and have already run into problems with power supply being insufficient, Cheers for the pointer I'll look into purchasing on EbayUK.
Well you either it can't handle all those drives you have or you have a very unstable PSU. But if it is giving you problems I recommend that you switch it out. Get a solid, well built one for around 25-40 pounds from Antec or Enermax. If 450W is having problems I suggest about 500W. That should solve your problems quite handily.
