installing linux as a new os problems

    im trying to install linux but any version i burn to a cd when i go to boot it up my computer screen flashes operating system not found anybody else had this problem or have any suggestions?

    Make sure your BIOS is set to boot from a CD. Sounds like you formatted the HDD, and it cant find an OS. Should be a simple fix. Which flavor of linux?

    Is it a live version you are trying to run from cd rom?

    already tried to set the bios and im trying debian
