i recently just bought a new latptop from dell, the inspiron 9400 and i ordered a 7200 rpm 80 gig hard drive. Now when i recieved the computer i checked the properties through windows and noticed that it only said that i have 60 gigs of space (52.7) to be exacand gthen i checked the bios and the bios said that i have a 78 gig hard drive. P.S i have two hard drives one if labeled back up and only holds 16 gigs making the combinded total around 68-70 gigs. Where did the other 10 go???
You tend to lose some drive space to overhead. Its typical for all drives to report slightly smaller than advertised. Everything is good, so dont worry. ~Rich
