I've gone through alot of other member's threads in this forum and found many ways to remove this spyware. I've tried using HT, Ewido, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Killbox, Look2MeDestroyer, ouUninstaller, ATF Cleaner, smitfraudfix, and finally Brute Force Unistaller using the alcanshorty.bfu script, in safe mode and in normal mode. Whenever it seems to have worked, but usre enough, about every 20 minutes the damn pop ups were back at it. Maybe there is something i'm missing. Ewido claims to have removed this nuisance, so has Spybot, ouUnistaller and smitfraudfix. Here are my normal Ewido and HT logs, there has to be something i'm just not seeing. Any help at all would be great ;_; Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 7:46:38 PM, on 6/7/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\ewido anti-malware\ewidoctrl.exe C:\Program Files\ewido anti-malware\ewidoguard.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\iaantmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\MsPMSPSv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\iaanotif.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\MouseWare\system\em_exec.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit\Surround Mixer\CTSysVol.exe C:\Program Files\Broadcom\BACS\BacsTray.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\b1213396.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXP.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpobnz08.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpotdd01.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\KEM.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\KHALMNPR.EXE C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpoevm08.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin\hpoSTS08.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Nexus Polaris\Desktop\Utilities\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = localhost F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=userinit.exe O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDHelper.dll O2 - BHO: DriveLetterAccess - {5CA3D70E-1895-11CF-8E15-001234567890} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswshx.dll O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll O2 - BHO: TGTSoft Explorer Toolbar Changer - {C333CF63-767F-4831-94AC-E683D962C63C} - C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\TGT_BHO.dll O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P17Helper] Rundll32 P17.dll,P17Helper O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Logitech Utility] Logi_MwX.Exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IAAnotif] C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\iaanotif.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dla] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTSysVol] C:\Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit\Surround Mixer\CTSysVol.exe /r O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bacstray] C:\Program Files\Broadcom\BACS\\BacsTray.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ATIPTA] atiptaxx.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [b1213396.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\b1213396.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [STYLEXP] C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXP.exe -Hide O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Steam] "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -silent O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DellSupport] "C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe" /startup O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [b1213396.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\Nexus Polaris\Local Settings\Application Data\b1213396.exe O4 - Global Startup: hp psc 2000 Series.lnk = C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpobnz08.exe O4 - Global Startup: hpoddt01.exe.lnk = ? Download Killbox to your desktop -> http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip Unzip it to your desktop. Run Killbox.exe -> Choose Delete on Reboot -> Click All Files option. Copy the following lines to your clipboard (choose text with your mouse, press CTRL+C or copy) C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winhoo32.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\b1213396.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Nexus Polaris\Local Settings\Application Data\b1213396.exe Then go back to Killbox -> go to File -> choose Paste from Clipboard -> Click the red-white Delete File option. -> Click Yes to Delete on Reboot question -> Click OK to any PendingFileRenameOperations requests (and tell me if you get any of these!) -> Restart your computer if Killbox won't do it. (If you get this error when running Killbox: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.", download Missingfilessetup.exe form here to your desktop and run the file, then try running killbox -> http://www.eudaemonia.me.uk/downloads/Files/missingfilesetup.exe) Boot comp to safe mode and scan complete system scan with EWIDO Before that mark in setting line "scan every file"
Everything is good so far, had no problems getting rid of C:\WINDOWS\system32\b1213396.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Nexus Polaris\Local Settings\Application Data\b1213396.exe I had tried looking up this process and file but found nothing so assumed it was harmless. Thanks for the assistance, very much appreciated.
