I have deminsion 4700. I couldn't find any info online. My origanal computer is down, I'm on my friends computer and wanted to know where I can go to find out specs for my computer. It has 512mbs ram and 2.8ghz processor. And I wanted to know where I could go to find parts that would fit my computer such as ram and if possible a graphic card. Dell didn't provide me with any info on the desktop. I wanted to check and see if the parts off newegg.com would work with my pc. Your help is appreciated.

can use any ddr2 ram & take old psu with you to local computer store to get new psu that will fit your dell case, attach to motherboard properly & supply equal to or more than in wattage output.

Seems to use very modern memory at slow (by today's standards) speeds, but I would buy PC5400 for it.
Dell is very cagey about detailed specifications, LoL - it's more like 'click HERE to purchase' - but those specs say DDR2 @ 400MHz or 533MHz.
PC5400 is inexpensive these days and supports up to 667MHz, so should run real tight at those lower speeds.
I recommend the OCZ ModStream 450W modular power supply, it's gorgeous! The cabling is so perfect, all shielded and modular, very trick. Rock-solid 12v, 5v and 3v; high-quality (not just quantity).
They have a 520W model too, but that's for the new vidcard guys - and the 450W is already kinda dear... but money well spent.

I believe it is OEM Dell, using the Intel 915G chipset - the 'G' has always signified that the mobo has Intel onboard video.
You have the mobo; only you can read any model#/serial# off it.
    You should run CPU-Z...
    http://www.filepedia.com/desktop_software/other_tools/cpu-z.cfm
CPU-Z will tell you a bit about your mobo and BIOS, and might list your mobo as an OEM part# of some sort, if it is made by a recognized manufacturer.
Did you purchase any new DDR2 RAM or power supply yet?

    ILL-C, you haven't answered The_OGS's questions so don't do a bump.
