Hello, I really don't know much about computers, but I appear to have gotten a virus where Internet Explorer won't open no matter what I try (i click on it and nothing happens). I had an icon on my desktop that said "Security Troubleshooting" and it was an .url to some website (i think "free test" was in the name of it). I can open AIM, so I know I am still connected to the internet. When I try to restart the computer, something comes up saying that iexplorer.exe is trying to shut down and if I end program I may lose information, blah blah blah. I always say end program, since it's not working anyway. I don't really know how to get rid of it, since I can't open the internet to download anything. Any help or ideas of what to do is greatly appreciated!
I guess I should have added that I have the latest McAfee running all the time (no help that was!) and I scanned my entire computer a few times, with no luck. Before this all happened it did say that it found a virus but it had deleted it. Then it said something about a PUP and I deleted that thinking it was related to a virus. (maybe I shouldn't have done this???). I ran Ad-Aware and deleted whatever it found too, but that didnt' help either.
