I just booted my new computer, and I'm having a problem. I'll try to post as much info as I can think of. I have an Asus A8N-SLI Premium with a Western Digital Caviar 80Gb Hdd, and 500Gb Hdd. When I start it up, it goes to this screen that says Asus A8N-SLI Premium and all that, and you're supposed to hit DEL to go on. Well, when I hit it, it comes to a menu that says RAID Configuration Utility. I hit "Create RAID set," and it just says "Not enough single drives to create Raid set." Can someone just tell me how to configure them? I finally got it to recognize both hdd's, but when I get to my Window's setup it says they aren't there.
I take it that when you try to install windows & get to the part where you choose the harddrive to create the C: partition & install windows it tells you that no device was found. Also are the HD's sata (skinny cables) or pata (normal flat ribbon cable), if sata which colour port are they connected to as red is the silicon image raid setup & black is the Nvraid setup and you'll need to make a floppy disc with the driver for either setup depending on which one you use. So with driver floppy made when you power up your system and windows starts to install, as the screen goes blue at the bottom of the screen there will be text asking you to "press F6 if you require third party drivers", you need to press F6 then & a little while after you will be asked to specify which drivers to use, insert flopy, choose 3114 for silicon image if you use them or choose the Nvraid driver if you use them. The drivers for each raid setup are on your Asus cd-rom, just follow the instructions on the disc to make them & put them on seperate floppys.
