I recently bought a Travelmate 5000 from value village (used items store) It was like $10 but it didnt come with a charger the input is 13 volts @ 2.77 amps. I can buy a cheap charger from and store like cashconverters or the source but i cant find out which side of the plug is what. Is the center the + or the -, or is the outer shell the + or -?
I dont know, does anyone have a laptop like this with the charger and the specs, or can someone help me search for the power input specs. (I had no luck on google, yahoo, or altavista)

Hey, you can buy a universal ac adapter on ebay for 35ca. As far as ac adapter pin polarity, it depends on the manufacturer. You can also buy a multimeter for about 15ca........You definitely dont want to reverse the polarity.

I have a powersupply that meets the laptop requirements and i am able to purchase the correct tip from an electronics store for $2ca. I just need to know the polarity of the tip, if i reverse it it will fry the internal circuuitry (no doubt about it). I was also thinking of charging the battery itself. 10.8 volts 2500mAh 1A, PN 9786247-0001, lithium ion.
The batterie has for terminals and im not sure what they do. if i can figure out which is positive and which is negative it isnt that hard to make a "dock" for the batterie!

I checked, its not marked on the battery, or the power plug, or the battery slot. The only marking is the power plug has a logo of a "plug" on it. That doesnt realy help me.
