Helllo: I have a Compaq Presario PC, model #SR 1503WM. On the front of the tower, there is a USB 2.0 port. Last night, my DVD drive wasn't registering through the port (the cord is too short to use the ports in the back) and I had the light dimmed low because my cousin was trying to sleep. Anyway, I went to hook the DVD writer back up to the PC, and it was very loose.

Upon inspection this morning, I realized the whole port was gone! My fault entirely, of course. Is there a way to remove the PC cover and possibly reinsert a new port? Would it be expensive.

Please, I need to know by at least Thursday. Thanks, Kegan

open the computer to see if usb port connector has fallen inside, maybe needs to be re-inserted back into place.

OK, how do I open the PC. That's why I gave the model #, I am unsure how to open it. I know some PCs have a release button on the side of the tower, but I don't see any on this one. Thanks, Kegan

Check the back left side (front facing you) there should be 3 or 4 screws..remove those and slide the case side panel rearward.

Make sure the computer is unplugged before entering the case.

disconnect to power cord to pc & you'll not get sizzled. only way to get sizzled is by playing in the psu.
