So I have a movie on my computer in both MPG format and AVI. It has foreign subtiles. Most of the movie Audio is in English (you'd think the subtitles would be english as well when needed in the movie). Is there any EASY EASY EASY way to remove the foreign subtitles from either file format and replace them with english subtitles??? I have the englist subtitles split into two files (both are .ssa format) It might also be worth mentioning the AVI movie is also split so I assume these subtitles were made for it, unless I can join them together to add to the MPG file. I've NEVER tried anything like this so please be kind.... Thanks
Hi, I'm not sure about removing the current subs from the movie in the format you have it in, i.e. if it's a TC/TS/CAM etc.. from a release group, I don't think you can, the reason is obvious, however you can hardcode the english subs you have into the video and superimpose them over the exisiting ones. Join the subs with Subtitle Workshop, download VirtualDub, then download Vobsub and be sure to associate it with Vdub, load up the vid file in Vdub, and under video>filters, select Vobsub>Textsub, select your sub file>OK>OK again, set video to full stream processing and compression with an encoder of your choice. This is only really needed if you intend to encode the source to DVD format for a standalone, if you simply want to just watch it on your pc, download ffdshow and media player classic, upon install of ffdshow select the subs option. Note : The sub(s) file(s) have to remain in the same folder as the video and be given the same name as the video eg. bitemyass.avi <-- (video) and bitemyass.srt (subs). Then when you play the video file in mpc, the subs should automatically appear, hope this helps. Regards C|F
