Problems with HDD

    I have got a problem with my HDD. It is ATA 133 type, 200GB Maxtor. When i connect it on IDE cable my system start normally, but when i want copy some files from them .. system crashed !! Only way when system dont crash is when i turn off UDMA mode. Can someone help me?

    try replacing the ide cable. is the drive set as master, slave or cable select? on primary or secondary ide?

    I agree^^^^ switch the cable. You may be using a standard 40 pin IDE cable which will give you issues with UDMA(too much interference between the conductors). You need to use an 80 conductor cable (independant ground for each of the 40 wires) to allow for reliable data transfer under UDMA. Just my $.02, but thats what I'm betting on.
