My phone was recently stolen. Today I called my network O2 to block the SIM and handset. I had the IMEI number ready but they didn't need it, is it possible for them to block the handset without knowing it?

The SIM is Pay As You Go but the handset was not bought from O2.

Yes. They probably have the IMEI already registerd with your account info when you purchased the phone.

Hopefully someone nice will return the phone to you. Good luck.

evrytime you make a call the imei will be registered onto their sytems along with your imsi number and a whole lot more information. they can check, providing that you are talking to the correct person, any handset that you've ever made a call on from that particular sim.
