Hey Everyone, I've been using Nero, DVD shrink, Decrypter and Fab and other programs for a few years now without trouble, so I'm not a total newbie. Now though, when I try to burn a movie to a DVD my programs and computer think that I've got a CD in, not a DVD. I have no idea why this happens. My computer can read the DVDs just fine and save the data to the hardrive no problem. Any suggestions? Just fyi I'm using a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K12RA 1.10 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R Thanks, Riverfish
OK, When I open my computer and look at my DVD-RW DRIVE it says under details that it's a cd drive. When I put in a blank DVD it changes to a CD DRIVE. When I put in a movie, it says the name of the movie and starts playing the movie. Any thoughts? Thanks RiverFish
I don't know what is doing it, but have you ever been able to burn a DVD to this drive before--could it be like a DVD-ROM drive? All I might suggest if you think it is behaving incorrectly is that you uninstall and then reinstall the drive to reset it.
I would suggest you go to this link and check if your firmware on your [bold]BURNER[/bold] is up to date http://www.firmware.fr.st/ at the moment I cannot access this site.
Saltgrass, it's definitely a DVD RW drive, I've used it for almost two years to burn. I've disabled the drive and reabled it but haven't tried to unistall it. I guess I can try that this weekend. Gwendolin, I will check the firmware first, I'm sure it's out of date. I guess what caught me off guard is that it stopped working without any changes being made. I assumed that I must have accidently changed a setting but there is nothing I can find. Hopefully one of these options will work. Thanks to both of you.
You must keep your firmware up to date as newer discs hit the market the firmware on older burners have to be updated to recognize them, go to the link provided on top left side click download firmware and then type in your burner model, good luck.
