Hey guys, im in the market for a new graphic card. I want soemthing that can handle all the new games coming out for pc, has T/V out and Is PCI Express. The Geforce seemed really appealing to me, espcially since its on sale at best buy for only 70 dollars. http://reviews.cnet.com/BFG_GeForce...r_GF_7300_GS_256_MB/4505-8902_7-31888601.html those are the specs. I just need an opinion from some of you guys. I have a 550 watt power supply, AMD 3200+, and 1 gb of ram. Would this card be a good addition for me? (I currently Have an integrated graphics card by ATI that Takes away 128 mb of my ram)
i have the same specs as your computer, and i have this grapic card! Let me tell u , it can handle most of the new games, althoguh i only play BF2 TFT WOW and HL2. Plsys all these games fine, with maximum settinings too. FOr FPS's however, HL2 and BF2, youll probabl want another gig of ram atleast. I can't play BF2 with high setting, gotta put them to low. And HL2 is fine in single playing with all the settings, but online is pretty slow. Also maybe upgrading processor would help with these games, im upgrading soon, getting a new Mobo with amd64 3700, and a case with better cooling. all in all, think this card great for us pple thatl ike bargains. it can handle the games, and the TV out is great quality for movies and such. Using a tv however... wasnt that graet for me, my tvs resolution sucks. if u got an HD tv however itll be a differnt story for you. hope this helps! PS, might want to get better cooling. THe mobo i have right now is micro ATX, all my pci slots are full and right beisde this thing. The fan and heat sink for it are pretty crappy too, and its over clocked to 575 mhz! All ths adds up to alot of heat, i usualy try not to game for more tan an hour, or else my comp just restarts on me. if you are getting this card, give it soem room, or ever better get those pci fan slots.
What part of "PCI Express" is hard to get? *laugh* Anyways, if you want something to run Oblivion (and other new gameS) at more than 20fps at 1024x768 with 4xFSAA and 8xAF, get atleaste a 7900GS. The 7300GS is majorly underpowered and is a lower-end card. The 7900GS is midrange and should give satisfactory results. It would help if you gave us the budget you had in mind.
