OK so my "LaCie d2 HARD DRIVE EXTREME" been working for well over a year now, I just plug it in and its ready to go, but recently i upgraded to windows pro and it STILL worked fine,so a couple of days ago i bought a new desk so i had to plug my computer and move it ..when i re connected everything my windows didn't want to recognize my hard drive it uses a fire wire the hard drive turns on and off and i can hear it working its just that windows doesn't wanna recognize it. so i need help on what to do about this problem.

    Thank you

Although I dont have an answer for your particular problem, I do know that Lacie drives are notorious for just quitting without warning. Have had several clients lose data to one of these.

Just do basic troubleshooting. Is it plugged in all the way? Is it in the same port it was before you moved the computer? Does the Device Manager have any yellow warnings or red "disabled" marks?????

Try it on another PC. Try a different firewire cable.

Call Lacie and bitch that they make a crap product!! lol

    Good luck.
