look at the motherboard for can shaped objects called capacitors, are to be flat topped not domed.

Do you hear any beeps when you turn it on?
Have you knocked it? Maybe try opening it up and seeing if theres any loose wires?
If there is give as a buzz and well tell you vaguely were to put them!

My monitor is working because I hooked up another pc that I have and the montor works., there are no loose wires anywhere in the motherboard. I haven't found the capacitators with the domed tops still looking for that. when I push the button all I get is a green light but the red one does not light up... there's no beeps. I was wondering if it was maybe the power supply not supplying enough power? thanks for all the help

Dude, I had a same problem with my computer once when I overclocked my p4 1.6 to 2.0. My cpu burned but motherboard was just fine. Computer was turning on but screen stayed black. I don't know if you did anything like that or no? so just assume that it is time for you to get a new computer since you have checked everything and haven't found any solutions yet.

is possible for bios to be screwed up by virus which is why i disable bios update if is in bios. not all boards have that.
