    Hi all,

I don't know much at all about making vcds or dvds, so I desperately need some help...

I spent a few hours putting together a slide show in NeroVision Express 3 hoping to burn it as a vcd and watch it on my dvd player. I burned it to a cd but the cd doesn't play my slide show on my computer or on my dvd player. I know my player is capable or playing vcds cause I've seen it play them before.

Whenever I put the cd in my player it does read the disc, but instead of showing the main menu of my slide show it just shows a list of the following folders...

    -CDI
    -EXT
    -MPEGAV
    -SEGMENT
    -VCD

When I try to go into these folders (using my dvd player) it shows nothing in them. When I view the folders using my computer, they all have files in them except the MPEGAV folder.

I would really really appreciate if someone could tell me how to get the slide show to work, preferably without having to redo the whole thing it in another program.

    Thanks!

While you were making the slide show, did you test it while still in NeroVision?

Have you tried making any other VCDs using just video to see if you setup works at all?

You didn't just export the slide show, and not go all the way through the process? I don't have much experience with VCDs or NVE 3, but I would probably try making a regular VCD to see if I could get it to work.

Have you tried making an SVCD?

Thank you for the reply Saltgrass :)

I tested the show in nerovision before I burned it and it looked fine. I haven't tried making any vcd's with video using nero. The only vcds I've tried are ones that my cousin had burned for me (not sure if they were svcd or regular vcds.) To tell you the truth I'm not even sure what the difference is (like I said, I'm really a beginner with all of this.)

I don't think that I exported anything. I made the slide show in nero vison and followed the process the whole way through.

I think the difference between VCDs and SVCDs is quality, but your player my be more likely to play an SVCD than a VCD--only your player knows for sure ;)

Otherwise, I don't know much about the format, it just sounds like the format is not being burned to the disc correctly. I guess I won't be able to help since I can experiment with NVE 3, sorry.

As I suggested, you might try just using a short video to try to make a VCD and see if you can get it to work first, then go back to the slideshow.

Okay, I'll try it out with a video first and see how it goes. If it works ok then I'll try playing around with the slide show again.

Thank you for your input Saltgrass :)
