error loading operating system

    i was reinstalling windows xp and my cpu froze during the time and now when i start up windows xp it comes up with error loading operating system. i cannot load from the cd rom anymore either because it does not come up with the option to do so. please help

    restart your computer and hit the setup button which may be del or f2
    may be others but those are favourite
    when you get into setup select the cdrom as first boot
    restart and install your windows
    keep an eye on the heat
    cpu's are not meant to freeze

    how do i get to the option to set cd rom as first start up?

    the options are

    standard CMOS features

    advanced bios features

    advanced chipset features \

    integrated peripherals

    power management setup

    Pnp/PCI Configurations

    PC Health Status

    i looked but could not find it

    i found it but now right before the error loading operating system thing it says boot from atapi CDROM

    nevermind i found it thanks for your help the only problem is that it still freezes so i'll keep an eye on it
