this sounds stupid but how would I be able to burn up my hard drive? the reason Im asking is I got ripped off pretty bad for a 160gb ide hard drive 11 months ago, and since I still got the warranty from that store, I want to break it so they give me a better (sata-2) one. all info is appreciated!

open up your computer, then impact the hard drive in such a way that the casing is not damaged, but everything inside is. Then you can claim that the hard drive came to you broken and thus get your warranty. I am not sure if they will fall for it though...
