This virus is bugging me from last 3 days. I download dozens of spyware removal tool but its all in vain. Even spyware bot couldn't remove it. The only one that could remove it is Spware Doctor but I have to pay for it. I downloaded HijackThis and ran a scan on my computer and below is the Hijack Log. I am not sure whether i have to select everything that needs to be fixed so would like to get advice from someone who has used this before. Download SmitfraudFix.zip to your desktop -> http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip Unzip it (folder named SmitFraudFix) to your desktop: Open the folder SmitfraudFix and doubleclick smitfraudfix.cmd Choose option #1 - Search by typing 1 and pressing "Enter"; a textfile opens and lists the infected files (if those exist) Post the contents of this textfile to here. (Some antiviruses recognises process.exe as a malware. It is not malware, it is a program that stops processes) Send a fresh hijack log and rapport.txt
Thank you for that instant reply Tapiri. I will follow the instructions and see if the problem is getting resoled. In the meantime I would like to ask you why isn't there a need to fix the unwanted and unknown processes, registry etc that is reported by HijackThis. When I ran a scan through HijackThis within 15 sec it created a log of discrepancies. Once the scanning is finish there is HijackThis actually supports the functionality called "Fix Selected" which forces the user to select a particular process or registry that requires a fix so why is this feature not being used?? Also how does smitfraud realize what exactly needs to be fixed that was scanned by HijackThis. So my guess is HijackThis is being used as a scan utility and I also read through some posts in this particular section about posting the log files created after HijackThis which require a close evaluation before a decision is made as to whether running smitfraud utility is actually going to be useful in resolving the problem or not. Are there situation where smitfraud won't work depending upon the nature and the notrierity of the virus. Thanks

The program will now open to the main screen. 5. When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment. 6. You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files. * On the left hand side of the main screen click update. * Then click on Start Update. 7. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode. When in safemode, open SmitfraudFix folder and doubleclick the file smitfraudfix.cmd Choose option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and pressing "Enter" in order to remove the infected files. You are asked: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove your desktop wallpaper and the infected registry keys. The tool checks if wininet.dll file is infected. You might be asked to replace the infected .dll (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter". The tool might have to restart your computer; if it won't do it, restart your computer back to normal mode. A textfile will appear after the cleaning process, copy this file and paste it to here. Tha log is saved to your local diskdrive, usually C:\rapport.txt. Warning : Running option 2 in a clean computer will delete your desktop wallpaper. Still in safe mode : Launch ewido: * Click on scanner * Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. * You will be prompted to clean the first infection. * Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed. * Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report * Click Save report. * Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
