You should try frostwire.com, it's faster and should have more search items, it's also from the same company for some reason.

Also remember that you should download things that are at the same speed of your connection, 56k-56k, t1-t1, etc.

Did you open the zip and install it? If not then if you already unzipped it, install it, also I use winrar as a file extraction program, it very user friendly.

 

You should try acquisition. Excellent p2p program, it's all I would ever use really, although the 10.2 version is missing some of my favourite features.
Anyway, www.acquisitionx.com, click on release notes, then in the top right corner there is as link to version 116.5 which works on 10.2
