i have a Canon GP 335 copier with fax and scanner function. this copier needs a scsi card to connect to my computer which is running on window xp. the scsi card can be detected by winXP (plugNplay) but it cannot detect the scanner board of the canon GP 335. ive researched about it and microsoft.com says they have incompatibility with my device (Canon D1 scanner) and instructed to install ASPI32.exe which can be downloaded at adaptec.com some people also suggest that solution but i cant seem to make it work... ive tried it already with win98 and it really works fine... but i need to make it work in winxp... does anybody have a clue on this issue? here r sum details: winXP canon GP 335 (w/ canon D1 scanner) aspi32.exe from adaptec.com (ive tried ver4.57,4.60,4.71,4.72) canon gp scangear (twain) pls guys...i need ur help...

I would recommend that you use ForceASPI in the following way... Run dumpASPI to backup your current ASPI layer Run instASPI to install the new ASPI layer Reboot your PC Run aspichk to see if everything worked OK
ei dude! thanx for your help! it did run using forceAspi but i have to do it in a certain sequence. first i formatted my pc install windows i installed aspi install GP Scangear connect to the scanner suddenly it workz! i installed forceaspi before but it seems that you have to install it first before GP Scangear.. . thanx for the advice!
