hey guys kinda a noob here.
i want to make backup games for my firmware hacked 360.
i gave up trying to find out how to download games b.c u have to pay for them and it takes to much time. all i want the backups for is backing up my orginals i got now.
my question is what i got now good enuff to do this.
-LG supermulti RW-R DL buner w/DL DVDs
-xtreme 5.0 firmware hack
-ss merger 1.5o
-wx ripper 1.2
if this is correct can sum1 give me a link or tell me how to do this. also if i need anything else

you're dvd drive needs to be flashed w/ a hacked firmware...read the tut on how to do it.

Hi guys need help please.
First of all i want to know if i can buy a dvd burner such as samsung SH-S182D/BEBN instead of 2 drive: dvd rom samsung sh-d162c flash with kreon .81 to read xbox360 games and an other dvd burner like pioneer dvr111d to burn them.I'm just trying to do both with one burner i believe kujo2020 said it works with samsung sh-s182d on this post the first of october 2006. I just want to be sure if i can and if i need to flash it with a firmware like kreon for example and if it's possible i'll go buy one .....

1. my xbox NTSC/J is modded but i dont know what type of mod it is.
2. it plays backup games that came with it from other regions
3. I made a backup of a PAL game but it said wrong region code!
4. What are security sectors? do they have to do anything with regions?

the 360 is region locked...the only way you can play non-ntsc/j games is if the game is region free. Security sectors have nothing to do with region encoding.

Ok now i understand that Security Sectors have nothing to do with regions, then what are they? I'm sorry it's the first time i have to do my own backups

If you extarcted using swpa method then it isnt
if you extracted using samsung drive on pc it will have ss.bin
If you donwloaded the game check its .nfo

LBA problem in Isobuster:
Hi, I've got a Hitachi/LG drive flashed with 'Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth 8in1' firmware.
When trying to dump a game using Isobuster, when entering the 'LBA Length' value (3567872, and selecting 'User Data (2048 bytes/block)', on pressing 'Start Extraction' I'm getting an error message saying:
'The End Address Field contains an illegal value.
CANCEL will proceed anyway'
(I press cancel to proceed anyway)
There is no mention of this error message in any of the guides I've read. Does anyone know what the problem is?

when ever i use either Nero clonecd or any other prog it fails to start burning? is this due to the disks i have they are ridisc i try burning them at 1x speed but still no joy.

you have to use the .dvd file to burn, Nero doesn't support .dvd files...make sure you open the .dvd file w/ either imgburn or clonecd (and make sure they are the latest versions).

so let me get this straight... u can only backup ur xbox 360 games if u have the samsung dvdrom?..i have a HP dvd rom drive will this work with that koern firmware?

Can i use xbox360 ss merger 1.7b i`m new to this so dont think i`m stupid lol.
the reason i asked is because the layout is different to 1.5 and i`m not sure where to find the 2 green boxes mentioned.

Ok everyone this finally worked for me!!! Yes the Samsung Drive is the Key - you literally can backup the game in two steps.
A) You need the Samsung Drive (162c) - get it on Ebay if in US - search Kreon
b) Flash W/ Kreon (search forum to find it)
C) get xbox backup creator (took 15 minuters to read entire disk)
D) burn using clonecd or imgburn or even xbox creator
Thats it!

I have just download two games from www.xbox-rip.com and don´t know if i need the ss files to burn them. Can anyone help Me?

Hi Ricardo - this is a common question. You need to burn the .dvd file that came with the download. this file is only a few Kbs but it is actually the instruction your burner needs to do the burn. I use Clonecd and it works great just hit open select the .dvd file and click on start - thats it.

Thx for the reply navsav, but....

Here´s the problem, for example the gears of war came with 68 rar files and inside with sx-gow.000 (7.572 GB). This one is not .iso or .dvd but .000????
I really Don´t understand. where is the .dvd???
Can i burn this one with clonecd??
The other game ( LOST PLANET )has a iso file and the .dvd ... so i need to burn with Nero or clone?
I really need some help, because this hack thing in the 360 it's new for me, and here in Portugal i don´t know anyone that understand that subject.

yep! u just need the sammy drive, DL buner with DVD+R DL(vertibim,Fugi,phillps),cloneCD, Xbox Backup Creator = DONE!
i got everything and it works fine. just 1 problem every store i go 2 DL's are sold out!:@

i Have a Pioneer 108DL do you think this one will work?
I found the missing .dvd in GOW files...lol
but the big file it's .000 and not .iso
Xbox Backup Creator? i only need this for a backup of my 360 games... right?

LMAO he is giving you too much info.....you only need the Samsung if your making 1:1 backups...thats all. You can use xbox backup creator to make backups if you want, i prefer clonecd....but if you are ripping an original 360 game, you need to use xbox backup creator.
Your thinking to much also.....just the think of the .000 file as an iso, open clonecd, pick the .dvd file to burn, and the that will act like a .mds or .cue file...instructing clonecd how to burn the .000, .iso, whatever other extensions you get.

I made an iso of fifa world cup germany 2006, using wxRipper, i downloaded the ss.bin for the PAL version, since mine is a PAL game, when i load the iso up in xbox ss merger v1.6, it gives me this message:
What should i do?
It doesnt even come up with a required ss.bin number, i can still make the final iso, but will it work? i ripped the game using my normal DVD-RW drive(hotswap method: using dvd movie), because i dont have a sata port which is why I cant connect the 360 to my comp.

i´m trying to burn this sx-gowu.000 with clone and DVD Decrypter, but another problem occur "cannot open file: C:\GEARS OF WAR\LayerBreak=1913760" Reason: the system cant find the specify file".
Maybe the .dvd is incorrect, i really dont understand what im doing wrong. its a 35bytes file and it came with the 360-Gears Of War MULTi2 NTSC-[www.xbox-rip.com].
