I would like to know whats the best benq burner to get for booktyping..can anyone provide a link to one...thanks in advance.
I have a rebadged benQ (Philips 8631), and thought that all BenQ drives can be booktyped including mine! the 1625/1655 can do lightscribing, too. I only heard wonderful things about it. http://www.meritline.com/benq-dvd-bruner.html
I have the BenQ 1625 and it works well, it bitsets and has the lightscribe feature. Do not use that too much though, too lazy to buy the disks, but I have done a few and they come out okay, a printer would however make nicer tops. The BenQ1650/1655 is a very good drive and I recommend this one, lots of good feedback on it.
You meant "too cheap" right....lol I've got a 1655 on the way and know it will have bitesetting capabilities. I'm also looking forward to the lightscribe function as I am easily drawn into gimicky technology (hope a color feature comes soon).
I hear they are looking into the color feature, it would be nice. The disks come out alright, but after seeing the printable disks, I lust for a new printer. Maybe Santa will be good to me, it is never to early to put in your list
Are there any unofficial sites that have utility programs for BenQ burners? I tried the BenQ site and there were no booktyping or any other downlaods to be found! I have just bought a BenQ1650 and since it was an OEM it came with nutta Thanks folks
Hi Behrad, I believe for BenQ1650/1655 the "Solid-Burn" function is built in ... so even if you don't have the QSuite ... the burner will do its thing anyway. G!
hi all, just got the BenQ in this afternoon. All I can sa is that this drive rocks. I should have done this sooner rather than mess around with my old Liteon burner for as long as I did. I tried a burn on 16X for a test and used my TDK media and guess what: It worked like a charm. Burned great and playes fine and also scores 95 on the nero speed test.
Congrats on the new drive, it should serve you well. I will be getting mine in about two weeks. cheers.
LOCOENG& pals yes the only regret I have about the BENQ'S is that they came out with the 1650 after I bought My 1655 and the 1650is less expensive ( read CHEAPER) and is essentially the same drive without lightscribe ! which I have'nt used yet (read Lazy & or Cheap) here! I have'nt looked lately but should'nt you be able to download Qsuite @ Benq's website ? anyhow my friends good luck & happy burning with your BENQ's whichever one you choose! CIAO!

@BIGTOXY69 I had no idea you were so cheap and lazy....lol I will definately be getting the Q-suite from somewhere.
congrats to all the new Benq owners! i'm a big supporter of their "best bang for the buck" drives as well~ have multiple quantity of (3) three each of the 1640 + 1650 very pleased... for all those in search of QSuite, here ya go: http://support.benq.com/files/Storage/Software/QSuite/QSuite v2.1 Setup.zip same one i've been using since it came out, burn on buddies... docTY
LOCOENG- The Doc comes through with another Great Rx ! just Google for it ! Or use the Doc's link & save time ! Good luck !
i'm about to buy the benq 1650 drive but i got a silly ..well maybe not so silly question...when you open decrypter in ISO read mode will it say dvd-rom instead of dvd+r?? and also will automatically booktype or do i need to go that website & get a download?
Yes it will read DVD-Rom in iso read mode. You can booktype in Decrypter or Nero if you are using those programs, but you need to get the QSuite if you want it to do it automatically in every program. My BenQ 1625 will not automatically booktype in Clone, QSuite has to be their to tell it to.
