I've just begun my adventure into XP MCE and got the MP3's down great, however, how would I play a downloaded IMG file or .ISO file from the HDD? My objective is to dl the files directly to the MCE PC and instead of burning them to disc, as I have until now, I can store them on the HDD and watch whenever from the PC. Any help or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

2 ways to do it, burn it and rip the video to the hard drive

or get something like dameon tools or other virtual cd drive and mount the image

I see what you're saying, and thank you, however...is there a way to convert the ISO on the HDD into a video file WITHOUT burning it so it is recognized by DVD player software? If so, what is the best format to convert it into?

If left to my own devices I will eventually come up with the solution...LMAO...here's what I got to any who may have the same question...I found a program, UltraISO that extracts the files from the ISO and stores them on the HDD which MCE detects and plays.

VLC will recognize a DVD ripped into an ISO file.
