The xbox controller or the xbox 360 controller?

If the xbox controller, then you gota mod the controller. You have to cut off the end and attach a usb cable. The whole process is very easy, and as a mater of fact, there are a lot of guides on how to do that on Google.

um Nah...man no offence but that's not a good way.You need drivers in order for the pc to recognize the device. And good luck getting emulation software compatible with that.

@dannycracks hey man.You know I post on the game console forums alot cause Ive seen you there. You need an adapter. It's easy, cheap, supported with drivers and software, excepted by pc game developers, and will allow you to use your controller on both xbox and the pc.

If you chop up your controller you will not be able to use it on your xbox.Plus it's risky. Here an example link of adapters....

also you can buy a xbox 360 wired controller(I recommend it)See now microsoft has enabled wired xbox 360 controller to be compatible with the pc.Here's another example link.http://cgi.ebay.com/XBOX-360-GENUINE-MICROSOFT-WIRED-CONTROLLER_W0QQitemZ290002736260QQihZ019QQcategoryZ122517QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

after you buy it you can download the drivers at ms website.Have a good one and see you around the xbox and 360 forums.Peace.

If you know how to solder a few wires...it's a very good method. Sure, you can buy an adapter, but they're pretty expensive.

Yes, you can use them for Xbox and PC whenever you feel like it

Yes, there are many drivers out there for these modded controllers

Here is a very easy guide to doing the mod(This mod will make the controller compatible only with PC, will not work on xbox)
    http://www.xbox-emulation.co.uk/Xbox-Controller-Mod.shtml

Here is a more complex mod in which you can use the controller on an xbox and a pc
    http://www.metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/xbox_cc/index_eng

For the first mod...you dont even have to solder ANYTHING. You can just tape the wires together with some electrical tape and the whole mod should only take 15 minutes max. OR, you can spend $40-60(most places) on an adapter and wait 3 weeks until it arrives at your house. I'd do the mod, but its up to you.
