hi i just got this new laptop http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail~dpno~7021117.asp
and i have this wireless router
    http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=316
with this combination i cant seem to get satisfactory connection the best i can get is very low connection = around 11mbps and i am about 30 feet at the most away from the router.
i have broad band road runner cabe modem as an isp
any suggestions for the best one out there really looking for a router that good for gaming and that will be able to give connection up to 50 ft. keep in mind that it can only afford up to $150

Why not add a range booster or antenna booster?

You might want to look at the Linksys one with Speedbooster . It is the best one I have had yet . It has good strong signal , and way more speed than my old Netgear I just got rid of. This is my fourth one . Linksys ,also has some gaming ones at Best Buy. They run from $50 for wireless G ,$70 for wireless G w/speedbooster on up . My brother has the first, I have the second one . I have excellent signal and no more drops in signal.

Into a major accident! Possibly getting yourself killed.

I'd go with Linksys. D-Link has given me problems in the past.
