My Laptop got T2400 Intel Core Duo, so it support runing at 1.83Ghz on each Core but I use Cpu-z-135 to check my Cpu Speed and it say only 997.5 at each core ( I did not run anything at test ) !!! Some one please tell me what happen on my Laptop.
Well I'm no laptop guru but I do know the cpu will throttle it's speed back and forth to meet it's demands(this is to conserve battery usage as well as control heat output) That could be the reason for the slower cpu speed being displayed.
i heard that some laptops ghz will differ if plugged in to charge and when battery levels are different. this was mentioned in the post a few above this.
that all is true, the laptop cpu, will throttel down for 2 reasons, Either you are not plugged into a outlet, or you are not running cpu intensive applications. Simple, nothing to worry about, play a game and see what it brings you to, make sure you are plugged in.. and then, jsut for kicks, try a demanding game without it plugged in.. and see what happens.
