Hello guys. Relatively new here so please bear with the ignorance.

Yesterday I downloaded a torrent containing a movie in (allegedly VCD format). The files I got were a BIN file and a CUE files. I've never heard of these extensios before. Since the torrent's name stated this was a VCD verison of the film, I tried burining these two files into a CD using Neroexpress in VCD mode.

Is there somehting I'm not getting? Am I supposed to compress or decompress these files into something else? Help is much appreciated!

BIN/CUE is a CD image format. No need to author as VCD, it would have already been done. Kill Express and select burn image from the recorder menu in Nero and burn the image. There would also be a way to do it in Express. Should be self explanatory since that is the idea of Express.

Thank you Celtic. I tried burining it directly into the CD using the burn image option in nero express like you mentioned. Yet when I tried adding both files to the CD Nero refused to add them saying they were not authentic (S)VCD files. But I'm pretty sure these are not corrupt files since the comments in the torrent site were good...

    So, any ideas? thanks!

Try this guide. It's for Nero 5, for 6, open recorder, as stated above, instead of file:http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/172165.php If Nero fails, a guide on this site recommends the use of CDRWin.

If you got an error about not authentic (S)VCD files, then you aren't doing it right. A BIN/CUE is a general purpose image format. Got nothing to do with (S)VCD specifically. You could have a BIN/CUE containing a bunch of word docs and it will still burn, despite not being "authentic (S)VCD files".

You can check the image by opening with UltraISO, ISOBuster, etc. or mounting with Daemon-Tools.

Although the OP didn't clearly state their intensions, they did say that they were trying to burn it, not just play it. So that is the advice that I gave. If they had said something along the lines of "I just want to play it, I don't care about burning it." Then my advice would have been different.

No need to make a fuss. Thank you both for your answers. I used the suggested program, daemon tools, and it worked quite nicely.

Next time I'll try to be more clear when stating my intentions. Thank you both for all the help shown. This really is a great place to learn
