WHAT'S WITH THE BLOODY CAPS? For DivX files you should really be using xsubs. No need to re-encode that way. Just mux via divxmux (probably using a GUI). If you really want hardsubs, then I would suggest vsfilter via AVISynth instead of VDub. You really didn't provide any details of your process though.
