My eMachine T2642 which I have had for about 2 years will not turn on.
There are no signs of life at all. I brought it to a local PC guy and he checked power supply and it isnt that. He thinks maybe it is the motherboard. I was pondering bringing to geeksquad at the local Best Buy. Has anyone used them? Is this guy accurate when he says its the motherboard?

Could be something as simple as the power switch, or the connection at the motherboard for the switch. If you are comfortable inside the case, you can use a screwdriver to jump the two terminals for the power switch header. If you just touch the two pins for a second, the PC should boot. It it doesnt, then its not the switch and you have bigger problems.
