Recently i bought a new Sony dual layer dvd burner for burning stuff stuff. The purchase included a nero 6 burning package complete with vision express and others. I wanted to change a divx file into a dvd so i put it into nero vision express and let it do its thing. 3 hours later it finishes up converting the files and then proceeds to sit idle for the next MANY hours. After finnaly coming to the conclusion that it wasnt going to do anything i decided to close the program. Which did not work, nor did end task so eventually i had to restart the computer. So i have done this on about 3 different occasions with 3 different divx files all with the same end result. Then one day i noticed that my dvd player can play divx/mpeg4 files so i decided to try burning a divx file straight to the disc using nero burning rom (yes i burned it as a data dvd)and the GD thing froze on me again with no way to shut it down without shutting down. Oh and I dont know if this helps but i recently took this comp in to repair because i was getting some funky serious error messages, and even brought the burner there with it and told them to make it work while they were fixing the other prob. The f****rs said it was the hard drive that was causing the errors and the problems burning, which turns out they were right on one front. So if you could give me any information leading to the solution of this problem great karma will come your way. I might even open a paypal account and thank you elsewise.

well you successfully removed the first set of serials but there are still 2 sets there :) u might wanna edit those out or people might steal them.

i think 6.6.0.18 is a more stable version and the otehrs have some bugs. write down your serial #s, uninstall your nero, run this clean tool: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_6_CleanTool.html
    then download 6.6.0.18 from here:
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539
    and install it.

are you sure your telling it to do the correct thing? it seems taht it thinks you need a CD-R instead of DVD.

anyway as far as i can tell teh other stuff looks good (firmware, mem usage, etc.) but im not positive. sum1 like binkie or gwen would know better.

try to change versions and see if it works. if it doesnt let us know and post anotehr log.

    Hi kibblz
    Good advice by Xevlys.
What your burning looks like it need's a CD not a DVD like Xevlys said.
What brand of CD's are you using? Your drive isn't recogninzing it.

Can you give us some more details on this and the funky error messages?
    Was it fixed? What happened?

oh and you did to edit the post(s) still for language and serial #'s

those errors about having the wrong kind of disc was me being an idiot and trying to put a vcd onto a dvd. sorry for the mix up. Also, I conducted a later test where i tried to use vision express to just burn a divx file straight to the dvd, but it did the same thing (read thread title). So im still baffled =-\

    @kibblz
Read the thread title earlier but still need a little info on the pc bit (see above post & what the pc repair shop said, what was fixed etc)More info is better on this so we know which way to go and maybe not tell you to do redundant things.
The one log does show you putting a cd in but your drive not recognizing it.
Fom what I understand you would use the data option like you are to do these w/o converting.
Only the 1st post left to edit(language bit - 1st one)
