video card problem

    I have a ati radeon 9200se video card and when I install it and plug the monitor cord into it and turn on my computer it shows the logo of the computer and then it goes black. Any help would be much appreciated on resolving this problem. Need this video card in order to play pc games.

    this can be many problems,has it worked before with another gpu? is it has then this could be a driver problem...

    it worked on the comp it is in for a long time then one day the lights flashed and it was in the comp and it seemed to stop working and the whole computer is on a surge protector.

    if only showing computer logo before going blank than most probable the card is duff
