    kanytana hi :)
you need to convert your avi to dvd format and then use nero to burn to disc
try this trial version, it will leave a water mark, but if your happy with it you can purchase the key to remove said water mark, well worth the money.

vso converter link to trial version

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

then use vision express as follows

burning files from hdd with vision express

when you open Vision express you'll see a panel that says
what would you like to do
select Make a DVD then click DVD-VIDEO this will bring up another panel
    again in the
what would you like to do
    click ADD Files
    another small panel comes up
browse for your Video-TS file. highlight it and then open
    a new panel opens
click "next" in bottom right hand corner
    then another new panel opens
click "next" in bottom right hand corner
if a small panel pops up saying "your project contains more than etc.."
just click yes and down in bottom right hand corner click "BURN" and bingo away she goes.
time for a cup off what ever you fancy whilst it does it's thing
oh! by the way it's far quicker to do than reading this

    hope this helps
