I have decided to go PCI express for Gaming reasons. I currently have an Asus P4C800E deluxe motherboard, 3.2 Ghz HT pentium 4 chip, 2 gigs of DDR2 400 ram, and an ATI X850xt agp video card. I would like to keep the CPU and memory along with my IDE hard drive, have a SATA drive as well. Does anyone have any advice on maybe the most bang for the buck I could get by spending around 600 dollars on just a motherboard and video card, that would accomodate my CPU and memory, and still have and the ability to connect an IDE hard drive. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mobo for SLI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131578 they did not have the really nice mobos in stock, and for the video card, check out the Sapphire X1900XT 512mg. it is the kick ass of video cards right now, and it will only set you back about 350.00 and that plus a 100.00 (rounding) thats 450.00 so you can get you a nice power supply like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817128002 u get that that way, when u get in the video card, the video card wont suck balls because u have got a crappy power supply. but that will help you the most..
Thanks a bunch fihsnerd, I have an antec 460 watt power supply. I think I am leaning toward an Nvidia card though. Do you think ATI's new stuff is better than Nvidia's?
man i have an asus m2n32sli-deluxe mobo, my video cards in sli are only 128 mb xfx geforce 6800's i dont need massive abouts of mem for games i play doom3 great on my comp and my power supply is 700w ocz game extreme if you plan on sli get a high wattage ps for those power hungry higher end video cards i got a large ps for future upgrades and what not savvy?
Get the 1900XT, because you can flash over the bios to the 1900XTX the ATI is better because it has a crap load more pixel shader units than the Nvidia version.. + it is a lot cheaper than the Nvidia version.
