Usually if I download a fuzzy or blochy AVI, I use V-dub to improve the quality. I may use any number of different filters (depending on what the original looks like) then I use DivX for compression (bitrate depends on the project). Of course the files become considerably larger, but they normaly clean up nicely with this process. I was using the Pro 5.03 codec and just recently installed 5.05, that seems to be when the problem started. Now when I use the same method, I get a better quality file, but also a red hue over parts of the vid. About every 5 seconds the red color starts to build and gets progressively darker for a few more seconds then the normal color comes back. It plays like this throughout the entire movie: normal-->red-->normal-->red-->normal,etc. The original video file plays normaly in a player (although blury and blochy), but when I watch the imput processing window in V-dub it shows red in the unprocessed original! I've tried different bitrates, frame size, etc. It seems that it's the new codec. Has this happened to someone else? I couldn't get any clues reading other threads. Please help.
Dela, you are amazing. I download that codec then tried to use V-dub. V-dub gave a warning that basicly said "don't use this", and I didn't. I thought that I deleted it, but I checked and it was still there! I'm going to try to get rid of it again. Thank you so much!
i have always use 5.05.. and something weird happens sometimes, when i watch a video, it looks dark red the whole time, i then restart the comp and the problem gets fixed, what can be happening?
JimmyX, good luck with it!! mjuliaoi, strange problem!! maybe you should check for the angelpotion codec aswell lol!
