it doesn't really matter on your hardware,it depends what do you want to use ur pc for...all i can say is,that if you just mess around on it with nothing in particular then 512mb is enough, but if you like to play games or ram instensive programs and what not, expecially that it's 2006,you might want to invest in 2gb

The 1 GB will be enough becouse those game are kinda old so they do now use a lot of ram since your processor and VGA are fast enough . I am with a 512 MB ram and it run great on the counter strike but if you play games like NFS most wanted or hevier is better two be with the 1 GB DDR 400 and i would prefer to be 2 x 512 MB .

2gb will be enough to play the latest game and to play battlefield 2 as it should be played 1.5gb of ram would be ok but i recomend 2*1gb or 4*512mb of ram so u could have dual channel on (makes ram much faster)

get 2 sticks of 1 gig if you must, it will fusk with the speeds if you get 4 sticks.. and i have a gig, and it is fine.. but 2 gig would def be an investment for the future games.

1gb will be able to play *most* games on max settings as long as you get good ram

Is there a limit of how big of a hard drive or how much ram is able to go in a computer?

theres no limit for hard drive as the partitions are done by software and for the ram, most decent motherboards will have a 4 gb limit and high end ones could have an 8gb limit. I used to have 1 gb xms but I then swapped it with 2gb Patriot. both are pretty good

There is a 4 Gb or 8Gb limit for your motherboard it depends on which 1 you got and yes there is a limit of how big the hard drive will be but it all depends of you bios !
