Maybe the .dvd is incorrect, i really dont understand what im doing wrong. its a 35bytes file and it came with the 360-Gears Of War MULTi2 NTSC-[www.xbox-rip.com].
Ihave had this error - the reson I got the error is that the .dvd file had the wrond file name.
try this click on the .dvd file and open with Notepad. It should have some text stating the layer break = whatever, and should also say the name of the iso file which should exactly match the name of the file with the .000 extension. see if this works/

What should i do?
It doesnt even come up with a required ss.bin number, i can still make the final iso, but will it work? i ripped the game using my normal DVD-RW drive(hotswap method: using dvd movie), because i dont have a sata port which is why I cant connect the 360 to my comp.
If I remember correct this error comes up ofte but you just hit ok and move on - did you try to see if the resulting ISO worked?
If you still have problems - I do suggest getting that samsung drive so you can backup a game in two steps.

I am not sure where you would get this file - I have not used that mehtod so don't know myself. iwould make a post on the main 360 board and see if someone knows - I know someone has your answer.

just to inform others, so they know and hopefully questions about that error wont pop up again.. but that error comes up because the site that hosted the md5 checksum was hacked and erased completely.. they had to start over from scratch. Its not you if you receive that error. go ahead and patch over the right region SS of the game for your console, it will work. no worries.. good luck with it. i'd recommend looking at several different SS's for the most frequently used/available just so you don't waste a DL.

Im thinking about buying a premodded xbox 360 from Bay Area Mods. Any one have experience with these people. Also I totally clueless as to how to burn a copy of a xbox360 game. I have the newest Lightsribe dl Dvd burner but I can not open the computer. Where do you find prepatched files and such. Thanks in advance , Andrew

hey
i just burned tony hawk 8 with clonecd. When i insert the game into the xbox it always start reading ,makes a strange sound and then it just says open tray. Only one time it started playing the game. I used Philips DVD+R DL so i think that isn't the problem. Could it be that the lens from my xbox doesn't read good anymore?
I just got my xbox360 flashed and it doesn't read any of the games i have expect one time tony hawk. It has a TS-H943 dvddrive.
Anyone has any ideas what could be the problem?

So basicaly u need a mod. Im thinking about how to do this and i was wondering how much a mod costs, where to find one, and what other materials i would need. I got my 360 at christmas so is it harder to mod? I no i need a dvd disc to copy it onto and a double DVD burner. Your tutorial is good im just new at this so i dont understand it.
If anybosy has a reply send it to my email address at i'manidiot.com edited by ddp

Hey guys, another newbie to the the world of xbox 360 modding.
My question goes something like this: Considering I have a rather small hard-disk on my pc (with usually around 10-12 GB of free space), is CloneCD capable of reading the .dvd file if pointed to the archived rar files? I mean, without having to decompress them, which would require twice the size of the downloaded file.
Thanks in advance guys, I've learned a lot from this thread already :)

It won't work unless you extract the file.
