I cannot believe how good this scan is compared to every other cover i've ever seen.

And it's obviously a scan because you can see the plastic CD ring in the middle.

QUESTIONS...

1) How the hell do you get a scan that good?
2) I've never used a scanner, so will any scanner do that quality?
3) Can someone recommend good scanners that'll get scans that good?

4) How come on other CD labels you see, you can see the plastic around the edge of the disc, like this

but there isn't a plastic ring around the Black Eyed Peas label?

I think the reason for having no plastic ring on the outside is because they are not cheap, they actually went the whole nine yards and filled the entire thing with a graphic. Now before you go calling the mod hear me out. If putting the extra ink cost 1 cent per 2-3 cd's (just a guess, i really have no clue how much it costs), imagine if you made 3 million CDs (coincidence, i think so :P ) that would be about 3 million cents. Which would then equal out to a rather large number that im not willing to calculate right now as my hands are on the keyboard and im to lazy to move the mouse to the calculator icon. So you see, by nickel and diming you can actually make profits as long as those profits are bleeping huge. Hope my rant helped

So you're saying that the top piccy (Black Eyed Peas) is easily achievable?

Well I hope so because I just splashed out on this baby

Both Ireland and I use a One Touch Visioneer ... they're not that pricy and as you can tell from Irelands work, they put out quite a pic! Ireland is the real pro here though; I'm sure he could tell you a lot more.
