    steps to repro my issue:

I insert my dvd and dvd-r disk in their appropriate drives...
    I start up anydvd...
    I startup clone dvd2...
In clone dvd2, a few seconds after I select the drive that my movie is in, clone dvd2 shuts down.

what is the deal with that? This only happens on some dvds that i try to backup...

    Thanks!

    THER,
Welcome to the forum. Lets try this. Use the ripper feature of AnyDVD(right click the fox head in the tasbar) and rip the DVD to HD first then use CloneDVD2. See if that improves your burning as the DVD structure might be screwed up and ripping to HD use FixVTS.

What is the Name of the Movie you are trying to do?

Glory Road does this as well as Casanova...

there have been others as well. I just figured they had some better copyright protection on them that AnyDvd and/or CloneDVD hadnt figured out yet.

    THER,
Same old protection but different Structure problems and that is what you are getting. That is why I suggested that you burn to HD then use CloneDVD

I cant burn it to the hard drive because as soon as i select the drive that my movie is in from within CloneDVD2, CloneDVD2 exits. (At the first step where you can see the 'preview' in the left hand pane.) I believe that CloneDVD2 does burn to the hard drive first when I backup my movies as it creates the video files in a temp folder, burns them to the dvd-r, and then deletes them after the movie is successfully burned.

    THER,
Sorry but I meant to Say "RIP" to HD using AnyDVD ( right click foxes head in taskbar - and then use Rip this DVD-Video to HD)

Then you need to update to the latest version of AnyDVD as it is there. The exact wording is "Rip Video-DVD to HarddisK...

Upgraded and that seems to be working. After it is done, I just use CloneDVD2 and point to the folder where i created the movie files at right?

    Thanks!
