making a backup of a original gamecube game? and how do i play games with the case off?

i have a gamecube modded with xeno gc and i want to know is there a way i can backup my games without pso? and i want to know how can i play full dvd-r games on my gamecube with the case off? im stilling waiting on my replacement case to come.

 

either you tape the switch down on the back right side of the Cube, or you take the switch out altogether, and install a Normally Open switch that makes the cube think its always closed (and if you need to 'open' it just press the button down for a sec), or you could just put a wire in as a direct short so its 'always' closed
